Behind the Scenes: International Mediterranean Lux campaign
Now that things have slowed down I can FINALLY share the amazing Mediterranean Luxe campaign shoot with you all as well as some of the behind the scenes secret.
WHERE DID THE INSPIRATION FROM THIS COLLECTION COME FROM?
I have had the luxury of spending a European summer on the coast of the Mediterranean sea as part of my extended business endeavours. However I constantly wished everyone back home could teleport to me & get to experience the aqua blue sees, pink flower trees all over, cloudless skies and all things Mediterranean Luxe lifestyle. Seeing as that was virtually impossible, I decided to create a collection that represents all aspects of Mediterranean Luxe. It was designed for all those who have not been fortunate enough to travel to this side of the world nor experience the lifestyle as well as those who are just obsessed with sparkles and the divine Mediterranean. I wanted to give you all little piece of what the life is like this side of the world through the collection and campaign.
For the duration of the campaign I worked with a team of very talented creatives and professionals, I am so grateful to have found them. We chose to shoot in Cape Town, one of the most beautiful cities in the world & what better place to shoot than in the belly of our own home right? As winter encroached South Africa I am sure you were all dreaming of the Tropical or Mediterranean corners of the world where every day looks like a dream. So thats pretty much what we attempted to pull off for you all.
ABOUT THE TEAM BEHIND THE CAMPAIGN:
A close friend and familiar face of the brand Nadia Jaftha from Birdline blog had the liberty of directing the new campaign shoot while I was out of the country. Nadia is very talented & she always goes the extra mile when working on projects so I had full faith that she would do an amazing job on set.One of my favourite up & coming designers, Maxine Benatar from Maxi B collection genoursly sponsored all the dresses for the shoot, styled and arranged for the shoot to take place at the most exquisite Villa in Fresnaye Cape town.
International model & friend Tamara Francesconi from ICE models South africa mentioned an extremely talented photographer Dayle Joubert who is probably the best photographer I’ve had the pleasure of working with! She’s an all rounder, she does make-up, videos & edits campaign images for such an affordable rate.
Keep in mind that some of these ladies have not met before & we were about to do a 3 day summer Mediterranean shoot in winter without guidance from me. It seemed pretty damn impossible at the time. After 3 days of shooting for long hours they pulled it off. See images below for results.
I think we can all pretty much agree that these super women pulled off a world class great job!
I have always believed that when working with people and collaborating as a team you achieve better results…it’s clearly evident. When working with different personalities on set it is of utmost importance to maintain a level of respect for one another no matter their position, listen to the teams opinions, to create great vibes and most importantly have fun! This is always a recipe for success we proudly all achieved.
